A very brief history of the Thailand Roundup
A very brief history of the Thailand Roundup
The Thailand AA Roundup is a gathering of alcoholics sharing their experience strength and hope in recovery. Marathon meetings, workshops, speaker meetings, and meals provide the atmosphere to enjoy a weekend with good friends. The attendees are usually not just from Thailand but from all over Asia. This is a opportunity for all to forge new relationships in recovery.
Is a Roundup a part of AA?
A roundup could be considered a big AA meeting. So, the roundup is a part of AA like any AA meeting is a part of AA. There are weekly meetings, daily meetings, and even a few monthly AA meetings, so a roundup is like a big annual open meeting of AA.
If it is an AA meeting, why isn't it free?
We are self-supporting through our own contributions. The cost of the roundup pays for the venue, materials, and main speaker expenses. Any excess funds will be saved for next year’s event. The financial goal is to break even every year, but as our traditions have taught us – free usually has a price.
Does AA world services support AA roundups?
